Privacy and POPIA-aware handling
This operational privacy summary explains how DamStay is designed to handle marketplace data. It still requires final legal review before paid public launch.
What DamStay collects
DamStay collects account details, booking details, host listing data, support messages, reviews, admin audit records and verification signals needed to run a South African fishing-stay marketplace safely.
Verification and SSO
SA-only verification may use browser location consent, IP country checks, +27 phone verification, Google sign-in email identity and manual admin review. Google sign-in does not bypass phone or South Africa verification.
Private venue information
Exact venue addresses, exact host pins and host contact details are hidden until booking confirmation where access details are required. Public maps and listing schema use approximate coordinates.
Payments and providers
Payment card details must be handled by payment providers, not stored by DamStay. DamStay stores payment references, statuses and webhook records needed for booking, refund and audit workflows.
Support and moderation
Support tickets, messages, reviews and admin notes may be reviewed by DamStay staff to resolve disputes, prevent unsafe behavior, handle refunds and protect private-property access. Do not send ID documents or bank statements through free-text support fields unless DamStay provides a secure document flow.
User rights
Users should be able to request access, correction or deletion of personal information where the request is compatible with booking records, payment obligations, safety investigations and legal retention duties.
